Case Study - Maternity
Mrs W was a nurse. She was made redundant while she was on maternity leave and was unhappy because she had not been properly consulted about her position and she had been promised there would be a new post for her, which was eventually given to someone else. Mrs W’s Union were representing her, but they made a mistake about the time limit for bringing an Employment Tribunal Claim and the employer applied to the Tribunal to have the case dismissed. Rees Page Employment Team took over the case and successfully argued that Mrs W should be allowed to carry on with her case. After Mrs W was given permission to bring the Claim out of time the employer reached an out of Court settlement with her.
