Children
Unfortunately disputes may arise in relation to the children of a family - usually in the context of divorce or separation. Most commonly disputes centre around which parent the child should live with (residence issues) and what contact the child should have with the parent who is no longer living with the family (contact issues)
We have extensive experience acting for parents both in difficult residence - often referred to as ‘custody’ - disputes and in contact - sometimes called ‘access’ - disputes.
Our team includes members of the Law Society Children Law panel who specialize in this complex area of law.
If your children are not living with you we can help you to maintain your relationship with them.
If you are having difficulty seeing your children we can help to arrange contact for you.
Where possible we will seek your partners agreement to voluntarily put in place suitable arrangements. Where this is not possible we will assess with you whether any dispute can be resolved by way of mediation or by collaborative law but in some cases it may be that an application to court is the only means of resolving the dispute and where this is necessary we will conduct the application in a professional, sympathetic and cost effective manner.
